SHORT STORIES by

MOLLY TALBOT McKINNEY

Molly was born in Canada in 1933 and moved to Northern Rhodesia (Zambia) in 1938 with her parents and brother Peter.  She commuted by train to Kingsmead boarding school in Johannesburg, and received a B.A. degree in Fine Art from the University of Cape Town in 1954.  Moving to the U.S. she attended Syracuse University, the California School of Fine Arts, and San Francisco State College where she received a general secondary teaching credential in 1959.  Among her excellent teachers were painters Maurice Van Essche and Ralph DuCasse, and sculptor Ivan Mestrovic.

Tucson, Arizona became Molly's home in 1962 because the climate reminded her of Africa. Her writing career began in 1966 when two of her short stories were published in the University of Arizona literary magazine, Ananke.  She continued writing humorous short fiction while working as a stenographer and teacher until retiring.  In 2001 she joined the Saint Philip's Writers' Workshop,  the Society of Southwestern Authors, Arizona Mystery Writers, and later Romance Writers of America and Sisters in Crime.
